And it took quite a bit longer to get there or home. Plenty of time to quarantine a ship if needed.
But here’s a stat I worked out a while back. Prior to the travel bans to everywhere, more people flew across the Atlantic in a week than were sent to Europe during the entire war (WWI).
It’s a smaller, faster world.
