New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees announced Thursday that he and his wife Brittany are donating $5 million to the state of Louisiana in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The priority now is helping our communities get through this tough time, the NFL legend wrote on Instagram.
According to the post, the Brees family will be working with a handful of organizations and companies to provide 10,000 meals per day to children, families and seniors in need for as long as it takes.
He named Second Harvest Food Bank, Ochsner Health Systems, Walk-Ons, Jimmy Johns, Small Sliders and Waitr as partners in the endeavor. Lets all do our part, maintain hope and get through this together, Brees added.
Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, who earlier this week requested and received a major disaster declaration for his state from President Trump, thanked Brees on Twitter. We are all grateful for your familys support and generosity through this trying time, the governor wrote. We are one Louisiana and we will get through this, together.

New Orleans Mayor Blames TRUMP for Her Failure to Shut Down Mardi Gras Over Coronavirus
No. The Chocolate City is one of the highest recipients per capita of food stamp programs.
If she is defeated, it won’t change anything. The voters would just elect someone that is stupid as her or stupider to replace her. No Nation can long withstand the idiots that the voters are putting in Public Offices and survive. But that is just my opinion.
GEAUX SAINTS
Reading comprehension is not your strong suit.
The money went to Ochsner Hospital, and the restaurants he’s part owner of.
Not a single government entity was given money.
And you’re full of crap about NOLA. But then again every Ole Myth “grad” is full of crap.
And the Saints played in Tulane Stadium before the Dome not “Eau due bullshit” stadium.
You don’t own this forum.
The people who need the meals will never see them once the money gets into the government’s hands. They’d have done better to give it to a local restaurant/s to help pay employees and give meals to the community.
He ]Brees] named Second Harvest Food Bank, Ochsner Health Systems, Walk-Ons, Jimmy Johns, Small Sliders and Waitr as partners in the endeavor. Lets all do our part, maintain hope and get through this together, Brees added.
You DID read the article, did you not?
Maybe a beneficial, wholly unintended consequence of this Communist Chinese Coronavirus Pandemic will be that:
NO AMERICAN WILL EVER VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT AGAIN!
Perhaps their generosity will inspire others?
Just sayin’.
“He [Brees] named Second Harvest Food Bank, Ochsner Health Systems, Walk-Ons, Jimmy Johns, Small Sliders and Waitr as partners in the endeavor. Lets all do our part, maintain hope and get through this together, Brees added.”
Does that answer your question?
No. I never posed a question. Thank you for the info.
I took this as a question: “I would have given it to private charities to feed the poor as the State always finds a way to waste or misappropriate most of it.”
One of them made $2 Billion last Tuesday!
Source?
Did you see a question mark?
No, I didn’t read it. Figured it said the same as the last dozen threads on this where none of that was mentioned.
