She has the attitude of a typical anti-Trump Plantation Slave robot. She can't think for herself. The government has to do it for her.
Unfortunately for her (and New Orleans) she is the government!
The real central Texas. Not the Austin Progressive Center of the World lol.
Here's San Saba Co., TX's only grocery store's new home. They sure hustled to get it up and going after the original store burned last week. They moved into an old vacant furniture store on the courthouse square. Parking will be difficult. Good job, folks but keep some social distancing.
That’s sort of how my 1099’s (jobs) worked too. My last one was for 25 hrs. a week, pretty so-so hourly pay rate, and actual time was more like 40 hours a week (higher on travel weeks once a month or so to / from the customer/”employer”, well over 1k miles away). OTOH I really dig the work, and on non-travel weeks there was lots of flexibility to work in care for my Mom (even if I was up @ 3 a.m. - might be for Mom, might be for work, or some of both. Even half(?) the travel weeks were on my schedule as much or more than theirs.)
My “notice” came several days ago (CEO phone call to me on a Sunday afternoon! - he was making others, too) - I should be jealous.
No bitterness here, tho’. My customer really wanted to hire me as a regular employee and have me move there, but made special allowance so I could be here for my Mom, and has been very very flexible and helpful in other regards too.
The biggest problem is that the products I specialize in are very much a discretionary (even semi-luxury) consumer item, and a poor economy just devastates sales in that category. (See 2001 [late] - 2003, and worse, 2008-10). This time ‘round, I expect much worse: over 50% contraction in this product area. Maybe 70% or more. Duration: at least 2 years, judging from prior experience, if things go well.
Hard course correction at (almost) 65... If I can find a “lane”. ;-)
I am over 60. Slightly obese, but losing it fast. Have a couple morbidities. Docs had no idea what the first one was. The second one is low sugar. So I wear N95 and if any of you young whipper snappers dont like it, I will take the mask off and cough in your face. Lol.
Anyone infected with the SARS-CoV2 virus develops such a huge viral load that the infected will be shedding for up to a month after the immune system gets the upper hand.
This viral shedding will be primarily inactive virus which will show up in RNA tests.
Link to the San Saba grocery fire story.
Perfect way to illustrate, the more they know, the more dangerous they become.
Austin needs walling off. Better yet, shipped off to CA.
That is so very tragic. I am so soory that you have lost a son to medical ignorance.
Thanks for the post..It may save someone’s life.
IOW, you still don't want to be anywhere around them or where they've been.
Here here. A just government would have choose that path.
This thread is a great news aggregation site.
Thanks to all who keep it updated and informative!
>>This is _not_ that difficult.
The CDC would rather have us all die first than do a 180 degree policy change on PPE.
This will have to come from Pres. Trump., over ruling the WHO & CDC advise, just like the US-to-China travel ban did.
I agree! I am reading a book about Ann Frank. Gives me hope that we will get out of this better than the Jews dring WWII!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a sad time in human history! God Bless Ann Frank...
I am an old fart and my grandkids are young ...
I am in Lago Vista, Travis county. Had not heard that Williamson Cty lost one person. Our son and pregnant daughter in law live in Williamson. Together 20 years - their first child. This has been a nightmare!!!!!!! Hubby was in ICU March 8-11. Diabetic Acid Ketosis. NOT C.V.! But scary! Almost lost him.
I plan to remain in for a while after the Q is lifted! Better safe than sorry! Steady and Slow. Etc. We don’t have ANY good restaurants here in our little town.
Martial Law is the next step... I still do not know ANYONE with C.V.
