Someone told me yesterday that a friend told her that her Marine son was called up to report this weekend for a rescue mission.

this isn’t making sense to me. If he was called up out of the reserves, why? The USMC has a fair solid number of Marines trained specially for such actions on active duty.
If she meant “tasked” as an active duty, then that Marine could be in the s**t for talking “out of school”.
You know, I’m not sure she said it was a Marine, we were 20 feet apart yelling at each other.....social distancing.
