Those are just words on some report. Doctors are the ones who make the determination about off-label use and right to try. The important thing about the link I posted is that every article or report they examined showed a beneficial effect from the drugs. I’ll ask again: Has anyone heard of cases where the antimalarials have NOT made a positive difference?

Well apparently they don’t get to try in NY and UT per the governor in each state.
Otherwise, in any other state, a doctor could (and should in my opinion) try these well-known agents in patients presenting with COVID-19, unless the doctor/hospital is using some other antiviral therapy or protocol. Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are well-known drugs with well-defined safety profiles.
The publication of negative findings, if such a study has been conducted in the past, would not necessarily be surprising, to me.
As important, if not more-so, has anyone heard of cases where it showed a detrimental effect? In other words, outside of allergic reactions to the specific drug, is there any harm in trying?
