If you want good historical books, try Lynne Olsen - best book was Madeleine Fourcades... Female spy for French in WW II...Citeizens of London was my next favorite....also try Operation Mincemeat (don’t know the author) but excellent WWII stuff....

Ditto on the Ann Rule--especially "The Stranger Beside Me", "Small Sacrifices".
"Helter-Skelter", Vincent Bugliosi.
"The Zodiac Killer", Robert Graysmith.

“Any ann rule. Cannot miss.”
Yes! Ann Rule is the absolute best.
“Dead By Sunset” — I loaned it to someone at work in 2000 and never got it back. Arrrgh.
“The Stranger Beside Me” about Bundy, who she actually worked with at suicide hotline. Weird, huh?
“Small Sacrifices” - horrific what a mother will do.
All of her books are great. Hubby cringes when I get one because I literally can’t put it down until the last page.

“I was going to write her.”
I wrote her years ago (email) when she was going for hip replacement surgery. I’d had one and shared some tips with her. She responded.

Not a crime series, but if you like espionage novels, I highly recommend the Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva.
