Oregon found only one victim probably because they had only one test. My brother in the Portland area has been keeping me informed about the tragic comedy of testing for Wuhan Virus in Oregon. Likewise California had a paucity of tests until about the middle of March. When those were finally available in numbers, Los Angeles tested briefly and gave up trying save for people requesting hospitalization.

The CDC and FDA have much to answer for.

I haven’t really paid much attention to OR. Looks like their problems are in Multnomah 33, Marion 43, Washington 99, Clackamas 21. And the rest are one-offs. About 6K tests done.

With isolated cases, wouldn’t contact tracing still be applicable?

here’s where I got the numbers. Article headline is they aren’t testing in the ER. Is this to keep people from coming to the ER and instead going to testing pop-ups? or ? :
