"Out to play" outdoors would be great, if they could do it on foot, close to home and without going indoors other than their own houses. But very few people do that any more in at least some areas. Family and I are alone in doing so for as far as I can see.

Most people sit in their houses, sit in their cars,... Most of those who exercise tend to meet in gyms. Quite a transformation I've seen over the past two generations.
