“...my son went of for his perscription down in Pittsburgh two days ago. Said it was like a ghost town driving there and back...he lives in the suburbs. That was about 2:00 in the afternoon.”

I work in downtown Minneapolis and while it’s not ghost town, traffic is sparse and there are not nearly as many people on the sidewalks. The best way to describe it is like being down there on a Sunday morning or afternoon.

Most of the skyways are quiet and the restaurants that fed the downtown employees are mostly closed - except for takeout.

Yes I would suppose most large cities are like yours. I live in a smaller city, people here are pretty much staying off the streets but the traffic picks up going to work and back of the places still open.

It reminds me of the time all stores in town use to close up Wed. afternoons when I was a little kid. It always felt like Sunday when everything was closed for the whole day..

I step out on my second floor deck from time to time and it sure doesn't have the same rhythm. Day or night.
