I walked away from this a bit different than most. In the past the GOP would let all sorts of feces slide through and shrug their shoulders.
Not anymore. Yes, some crap got included but in the grand scheme of things it was crap. Hannity’s bloviating tonight was bordering on pathetic. Not far from normal anyway.
The thing to take out of this whole thing is this. The GOP actually has a backbone now. The difference? President Donald John Trump. One only needs to look at what did NOT make it into the bill.
If you’re as old as I am you see the difference.

I think you’re right - hope so. At least this shows that they have the power if they only try to use it instead of forming the usual circular firing squad. Like Trump said today about the Kennedy Center money, he didn’t like it being there but they needed the Democrat votes and it was something the Democrats wanted and you have to give and take. That’s politics. I think all the crap that the did get jammed in the bill now needs to be held up to voters as an example: “While you were worried about your job and your future, THIS is what the Democrats were worried about!”.

They’re the same squishes as always. The only thing propping them up now is the .45 Trump stuck in their backs.
When he leaves after his second term, they’ll all relax and go back to business as usual - unless they’re replaced with people who actually do have backbones.
