I had a home inspector on a project whose father-in-law was Japanese, and he served on the last U-Boat from Germany in the war. U-239. Their mission was to transport the Reich’s plutonium to Japan in 1945. Yes, Plutonium. Not Uranium. Hiroshima and Nagasaki happened during their cruise, and they dumped their cargo en-route after our nuclear attacks, and destroyed their encryption equipment. After that, they committed suicide. The U-Boat surrendered to the US Navy shortly after that.
