Herd immunity is better achieved by flattening the curve and developing a vaccine than by Deadly Disease Affirmative Action that crashes our HCS - possibly for good - and kills 1 in 11 after that, crashing our economy, anyway.
The definition of herd immunity is a certain percentage of people contract a virus ( or gets vaccinated), and when you get to a certain number, it protects the vulnerable.
Being as a vaccine will not be in use for 18 months, the only way of herd immunity NOW is by catching and recovering from the virus.
Isolating people will not work, it only takes one person to restart a pandemic.
That is the hard fact of life.
