I’m surrounded by people who think they’re incredibly amusing. On those occasions when the Horde are expected to try to act like normal people, one of the elements is, “No attempts at humor are permitted.”
I just spent nearly an hour on the phone changing over my medical coverage from the one I had to a cheaper one. YAY!
This time, the foreigner at the other end of the line was British, from London, who apologized for her accent. My response, “You have an accent?” She did laugh when I told her I used subtitles when I watched British films because of the regional dialects. She thought English subtitles on British films was a hilarious concept. Then I explained that it helped me to “hear” a dialect better, so it didn’t sound so strange when I heard it again.
Anyway, it’s done. I’m good for another year.
