From all the people I’ve ever spoken too about knee replacement surgery it’s a way to totally get rid of a major, acute pain for a major, slightly less acute pain.
I’m afraid the people I’ve talked to who have had knee replacement surgery have had nothing but trouble with it. I don’t want to be laid up when I have so much to do between now and the time I move. I cannot pack while on crutches or in a knee brace.
If the pain was constant and severe, it may be a different story, but mine is moderate and intermittent. But then, I’ve lived in pain of some kind since I was 14, so I’m more inclined to see it as a nuisance, for now.
Perhaps, when I get to AR, I’ll reconsider, but for now, no. I’ll take the steroid injections and then the cartilage injection if the steroids are no longer viable. The next couple of months are going to be very busy and I need to be able to bend and stoop and recover.
