At least the days are getting shorter.

Yeah, that’s made a big difference since Saturday.

The morning squee is a thing of beauty and a joy to be held!

Good morning.

She’s BA-ACK!!!

It was a long, long day, yesterday. The altitude in Denver caused me to get dehydrated, and I lost five pounds. The loss was a good thing, but the dehydration is still in the process of being rectified, so the water weight will be back.

The new printer met me at the door, almost, so when I get a little more situated, I’ll take the other one off the file cabinet and get the new one up there. It will be a good time to swap places with it and the desk, so I have light on the printer.

My daughter bought me so much swag that a separate box had to be sent. My Real Brother boxed the stuff up, put the postage on and it’s on the way to me as we speak.

I’m still amazed that Real Brother, at 83, RUNS up the stairs. Not just once or twice but every time he goes up to his office.

Cute Little Person, his wife, just sits and acts cute, at 81. He calls her “Little Guy,” and “Short Little Guy,” and does all the housework and most of the cooking. I really enjoyed my visit with them, and we did a lot of catching up on family things.

Favorite Daughter has made a lot of changes, thanks to AA and has been clean and sober for four years in August. She is a work in progress, and I’m very proud of her for taking responsibility for all the rotten, nasty, vindictive things she did to and said about me for the last 35 years. (Before her first AA meeting.)

So it was a productive trip, and though I was worn out, it was worth it.

But it’s wonderful to be home!

I’m glad you’re safely home and that the trip was worth all the trouble. Drink lots of water and herbal teas, and try not to overdo things today!

Thanks. I couldn’t just sit and surf while at Real Brother’s because their bedroom is on the ground floor and they leave the bedroom door open, so I had to be very quiet. It was different when they got up. They sat in separate recliners, and he played spider solitaire while she played with FB on her phone. And then they napped where they were. So I surfed the net!

My room (one of two bedrooms and the media room for fun) was in the catacombs, and on my last trip down Monday night, I slipped and missed a step and tweaked my left knee. I hadn’t taken my ankle brace, so my right knee gave me fits until I gave up and went to Walgreen’s to get another one. But this time, the knee itself was injured.

I was “She Who Limps” when I went there, and now, I’m “She Who Limps Twice.” *groan*

Anyway, all tasks I assigned to myself were accomplished, one of them being the Pike’s Peak trip, and getting an overpriced T-shirt to prove it! But then there was the Colorado Cherry Company, and the little shops in downtown Longmont.

Colorado is nuts. A mask is REQUIRED in every establishment, no matter what it is. How ridiculous it is to wear a mask into a restaurant just to take it off to eat and put it back on to leave...?

The birds survived. Gonzo was depressed, but Godzilla seems to have occupied herself quite readily.

I’m very pleased to know both birds are still astir. I hope Gonzo cheers up now that you’re home.

Jake was out all night. He’s been trying all morning to get me to go to bed with him.

I’m hoping I’ll get to bed at a reasonable time today. There is so much I’ve missed about my own schedule. I’ll get back to it soon. Hopefully, before the relapse sets in.

Try not to overdo, even if other people want stuff from you.

My biggest challenge is what I want from myself.

At the moment, I need to make some tea, then take my pills and go to bed.

The printer is resisting all attempts at making it work, and I need a fresh look at it. So I’ll wait until morning.

Plushy kitteh looks like I need to pet it.

Good morning.

The relapse is coming. I know because I didn’t wake up when the mattress pad shut off.

I have an appointment in St George this morning at the pain clinic and I’m too tired to go. But if I don’t, I don’t get a prescription for morphine. So I will go. ungh

Unnngh.

I would like to pet the plushy kitten, too.

Please try to do as little as possible today!

Things are waiting for me to do them, and since I’m the only one here, then I’m delegated.

Now, I’m going to go wash off my face and put it back on, and then comb my hair and the day will officially start.

I have the knee brace on, but I won’t know for a while whether to put on the ankle brace. Crikey. I need a cane.
