Sure. by the numbers of funerals and cremations. By the level of traffic in the affected areas. By the reports smuggled out of the countries by whistle blowers.
Those ways suggest that at least 200,000 died in Wuhan (I stopped bothering with that calculation weeks ago, though, since it seemed pointless), and that there are 10s of thousands dead in Iran. Traffic in Wuhan is at 10-20% of normal levels. They probably haven’t finished unwelding apartment doors yet, though.
There is a reason the Chinese tore up the roads to their main transport hub, a city that once boasted 11 million people, and put a military cordon around it. And it was locked down for two months while the virus ran amok. When did the Chinese ever give a damn about a few thousand dead? Or even a few hundred thousand, especially the useless eaters most vulnerable? This thing scared the crap out of them. They still aren’t sharing necessary information.
