Did they say what the cause would be? I expect blackouts later on, as equipment breaks down (with no spare parts) and we try to re-industrialize as we come out of the collapse. But that will be at least a year out.

About four years ago during a cold spell, we had rolling blackouts which caused more problems. Some places (mine) forgot to turn the power back on. Some transformers blew up when the power was turned on. There were few new transformers to be had back then so you know there are fewer today.
