So, they are going to expose room cleaners and other hotel workers to all those sick people? I’m sure you won’t find any of the people making this decision at these hotels.
Aunt Betty Lou won’t be cleaning those hotel rooms. Trained workers in PPEs will do the cleaning.
OTOH, the county officials here were laughing about the 15 days and were lamenting over lost tourist $$$ so told the locals who can’t stay home a few days to move into all our empty vacation rentals. Disgusting. Those cleaners and managers don’t have PPEs. But gotta get those tax dollars.
I know of one Walfart store mgr. who skipped out on vacation a few days ago. After he left, his asst. mgrs. told employees not to wear gloves. They said that the gloves were making customers panic. The store is in a major interstate hub with heavy traffic. The corporation also just modified policy to scare employees away from taking any time off (the usual implications with a requirement to contact the store every day of absence). Many of the employees are old, have old people at home and are underinsured or uninsured.
TV reports that Marriot is doing a lot of shutting down.
