Our store installed a sheet of plexiglass between the cashier and customer at all registers, which works well. Not sure if other stores have this - first time I've seen it.

That's wonderful - it's a real start... by the way what grocery chain are you talking about? Hats off to them for attempting to make shopping sane again. They still need to do temp checks...

My husbands business has a drive through, they have an “air curtain” that blows air very hard straight down between employees and customers. I wish they had masks, but it is at least something.
