Yes, I heard him say “I don’t want want to talk about that right now” when asked if he planned to punish China.
I’ve actually heard him use that phrase (about other matters) several times over the years, and I’m always surprised the media goes along with him. It’s weird. The media hates him and is as vile to him as possible but when he says “ I don’t want to talk about it” they basically salute. I have no idea why it works, but it does.
The press corps is getting quite a dose of “the real Trump”...he’s been much more philosophical and they’re getting to see a side of him that is not see in his rallies and press scrums. You have to wonder if maybe there aren’t a few synapses starting to fire in those skulls full of mush..
Like “Jeez, he doesn’t sound like a racist” or “What the hell is wrong with the House Democrats who tried to impeach this man?”
