I’ve had the impression that Mel Gibson was greatly humbled in his personal life—not just the drinking—and became greatly kinder. I also think his research for THE CHRIST film humbled him and greatly challenged him to become a better person.
I found him to be very engaging and warm. 'Course it was at his daughter's wedding shower so maybe that came into play.
