I concur regarding oral administration of adrenochrome, or blood in general. It would not pharmacologically produce an effect per se. Perhaps the effect is emotional, spiritual, or demonic.

The substance could be directly injected and produce an effect. Early studies, 50s-80s on PUBMED evaulate the possible link between adrenochrome (neuromelanin) levels and psychiatric disorders. I came across a video clip just the other day (still have not re-found it) quoting an up-and-coming performer, just when he was going to quit the business, an Israeli would “show up and inject him with adrenochrome” to keep him in it; the young man later suicided.

So injection of pharmaceutical preparations would work; intravenous, and also intramuscular —a preferred route in one of the older studies I reviewed. Subcutaneous injection may work too —heroin addicts describe this a pin pricking. Subcutaneous and intramuscular injections would be relatively easy for the casual recreational user in comparison to intravenous administration.

Contact with mucus membranes is also a possible route. This includes eye, nose, cheek, vaginal, and anal tissues.
