gas_dr was pointing out that the case mortality rate is only 0.5 times there and decreasing. 0.5% is still 5 times worse than the flu, but better than the 1$-3% many have been expecting.
I used S.Korea to point out that the rate has risen over time in S.Korea not decreased.
But NYC is using Chloroquine some, so maybe their rate will go down. Lets hope so.
Apples to oranges. The .1% generic flu mortality rates includes an estimate of unreported cases as part of the denominator. In the case of the Wuhan virus, they are dividing the number of deaths by total confirmed cases. They don't add an estimate of total unreported cases.
