When adrift in the sea at night, people will grab onto any piece of flotsam they can find. The “serious or critical” statistic is worthless, as most states and counties are not providing that information. You would think the deaths outnumbering the “serious or critical” 4:1 might be a clue. Or maybe that the number, 64, hasn’t changed in days despite many deaths. When hospitals and ICU’s are screaming for help because every bed and ventilator is used, I’m sure they will scream “fake news” because some website says “only 64 are serious”. I guess the “mild cases” must be causing all the fatalities.
Of course the CDC is not requiring states to report and publicly release the number of critical cases, and the states are not taking their own initiative to collect and release the numbers—that might actually be useful information.
