Solitude and Slowing

I found this sermon about "Solitude and Slowing" down during Coronavirus stay-at-home efforts remarkable and perfect for the times. The pastor talks about how we can make the most of the current "slowdown" and provides some interesting history about how technology like the sundial changed how we live our lives.

He touches on how we can help one another - and suggests checking in on neighbors and establish contacts now etc. He makes a great case for making the most of this historic opportunity to set our lives on a better footing; the most tantalizing is that slowing down and being more mindful of God doesn't make Him love us more, but can help us perceive His love better. :)

Near the end of the sermon, the pastor quotes Philipians 4:8, which is a favorite of mine that I'd all but forgotten. Perfect. I'm going to print it out and place within my visual range for the days ahead.

Thanks, RN, for these threads the past couple of years. And thank you for the sermon you posted.

It was a great message on how we can use this time in a positive way for ourselves, our families, and others.

Thanks to all we’ve learned on the Q threads and our faith in God, we don’t have to be fearful or upset in the coming days.
