What proof is bourbon usually? States that don’t sell high proof grain alcohol could use 90 proof but that’s still not 60% alcohol.

Bourbon ranges from 86 to 105 proof, give or take. So no, it's not 60% alcohol. But they can make high proof grain alcohol pretty easily. Probably won't taste very good though. :)

Supposedly at least 60% is required for sanitizing purposes. I always have 190 proof around for making herbal tinctures.
