A good friend is the spiritual counselor at my MIL’s nursing facility. They closed down last week. To visitors. Except for end of life.
She said she was going to have to meet families at the door, gown them up, and stay in the room while they visit.
Now, last summer my mother was actively dying in the same facility. I would come in late in the morning and stay until later in the evening. For ten days. Those days are over.
We parted the other day in the grocery store...she said she likes my MIL so, she hoped she wouldn’t see me for a while.
This whole thing is so 1900.
I hope your MIL stays well too. I’m relieved tho that they have measures in place for those who need to say good bye. My mom passed away in August. I’d be out of my mind if I wasn’t able to see her.
