Research is what you do after the hypothesis.
I find it to be a fairly decent hypothesis though.
“Japan might approve anti-flu drug Avigan to treat coronavirus patients”
- see https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2020/02/22/national/science-health/flu-drug-avigan-coronavirus/
An older story from 02/22, but it was in The Guardian today (where Chinese officials declared it “clearly effective”).
Once they publish their research, it can be reviewed/validated.
“It doesnt seem like the ordinary worker in an assisted-care facility would have the income to take a trip to China. Possible, though.”
It used to cost far less than you might imagine, as in $400 to $500 round trip to Peking (from the West Coast), including bags, meals, and even alcohol. Did that a bunch of times (not just China). And once in China, still cheap, relative to much of the US.
But, of course, those days are gone. I expect to air travel to move to much more ‘comfortable’ flying, with wider seat spacing and no more recirculated air. So probably closer to $1000 round trip (minimum), and that’s assuming our currency survives this nightmare.

More labs across the country are able to test for COVID-19. And now, Wisconsin clinicians can order tests without public health approval. Since tests are widely available, we will no longer report the number of people under investigation.

I saw that report on OANN, and CNBC, today.
I’m thinking...great, I’m the one who - up until a couple of weeks ago - has been putting on gloves, moving packages to a designated porch area, and spraying, allowing to dry.
I wasn’t letting them sit for days :-(
I have been, lately, though.
What’s a good disinfecting process for items that you need sooner than a week?
Anyone have ideas?
“I dont think Trump is stupid.
Which means he knows things we possibly dont.”
And that is what scares me. They were having classified meetings about this in Feb. I think they are spoon feeding us a little at time so we do not panic.
There have been hints, that is why I started preparing back in the first week of Feb. Everyday it gets more real (unreal)
First coronavirus-related death in Missouri, a person in their 60s who contracted the virus during travel

Check out the picture at the tweet “temperature check for city hall visitors”.
Hello! Are we dumb or what.
Temperature check gives you a 50-50 chance if the person is positive—plus the checker has no eye protection.
You can’t fix stupid.
” do _not_ want to stock up during the gaps”
I have mask, gloves and other protected equipment for this. Also pick up extra guns for hunting.

Might be cheaper than we know.
(Vietnamese) nail techs, here in the US, make REGULAR trips to Vietnam, throughout the year.
I always wondered how they could afford that. One tech told me it wasn’t that much money....something they save for and then they spend at least a month there.
I haven’t been to a nail salon, in over four months. These at home manis are looking better, by the day :-)
1st positive in Cape Girardeau, MO (TV report). Office worker @ hospital. Not seeing anything online, yet.
Maybe they could not cancel their vacation reservations. Lol.
Yikes.
Most folks don’t even realize they need goggles. They don’t know it can enter via the eyes.
Heck...a LOT of people are still thinking this is just a bad flu and will pass, in the next two weeks.
I spoke with an older relative, earlier today who is just clueless.
She laughed when I told her to please stock up, on meds/supplies....even though her stores all empty, too.
Wow. Detail oriented. Eye opener. Red pilled. Thank you.
If I get it, I am going to go out to a US Forest Service campground, somewhere in the high country here in AZ, or camp at large out in the middle of the woods, and self isolate there. If I DO go on to the great hunting grounds, it will be with my boots on and a killer final view with plenty of fresh All American Air in my putrid withering non functioning lung sacs.
Party on Wayne! Party on Garth!
Right now, Im leaving all boxes on the front porch, and thats where I open them.
I try to wait at least a day, but If its something I need soon, I spray the box with Lysol and leave it a few hours. Then I come back with mask and gloves, open and wipe the contents with bleach wipes. I let it sit for around 30 minutes then bring them inside.
If its something that can wait, I just push it with my foot to the end of the porch and cover with a tarp and open it after a week or so.
OK.
Yup. Would just like to read what was written and not get in second-hand from the SCMP (or any news outlets for that matter).
We are setting up a camper in the middle of our valley for the isolation room with a rope off area and burn can.
The camper has a bathroom, bed, tv, microwave and wifi. Only one person will go into the rope off area with food and etc.
I am located in a valley with relatives, fast moving river, deer, pig, rabbets and etc. Blood is thick here we got each others back.
We’ve been spraying them down, letting them dry in the sun and then putting them in the garage to ‘age’ for a week or 10 days.
NYC is exploding.
Albany, NY:
The local convenient stores are wrapping the few booths they have in shrink wrap around the parameter. Signs state No seating until further notice.
Local food and drink service businesses (friend I spoke to) are being told they can serve people, but tables and seating must be removed at the very least pushed to one side and stacked. They are being told that people ARE NOT allowed to linger for any reason and that they should actively discourage it or risk closure.
