Health chief: Georgia seeking out medical equipment amid shortages

Dr. Kathleen Toomey said some of Georgia’s hardest-hit communities are experiencing equipment shortages and that Gov. Brian Kemp’s coronavirus task force is in the process of identifying supply sources from both the federal government and the private sector.

“Not only are we looking to obtain that kind of medical equipment, also personal protective equipment,” Toomey said when asked about ventilators and respirators during a live interview on Georgia Public Broadcasting’s “Political Rewind.”

This isn’t 2019 anymore.

Our medical field is going to have to learn to operate 1900 style until we start manufacturing our own supplies in quantity again.

Kids can’t congregate any more. Strep throat will be a deadly disease again without antibiotics. Strep goes through the local schools here several times a year with umpteen kids getting shots or the bottles of antibiotics for that. Ditto daycare. Daycares are microbe factories...now imagine them without antibiotics...
