Today my wife and I went to the local H.E.B. grocery store to purchase some things we needed. The shelves in the store were largely empty. There was a young couple shopping who were complaining about the empty shelves. Each of them was wearing a Bernie Sanders for President tee shirt.
I walked up to them and said, "Are you feeling the Bern?" They stared blankly. I then said, "Welcome to the Havana H.E.B." The continued to stare blankly at me so I continued, "This is what grocery store look like under socialist and communist regimes."
Much of the Second Amendment
The 10th Amendment
That's for starters.
They both went without much of a fight.
The gas station convenience store nearby has full shelves, drinks, etc. Got some tater chips for today’s ride and picnic. Parking lot at the pot store was jammed as we passed by.
I have several Ukrainian friends who know what it is like to live in a Communist nation. When they see these Communist useful fools, they don’t mince words. They are enraged that they came to America and see this toxic dump on the political landscape even happening.
Went to HEB yesterday. No cheese. Lack of toilet paper has driven many to opt for constipation.
I went to my local Costco today to pick up a prescription and the line for the cash registers reached clear across the store. They announced that all paper products had been sold out.
Later, I went to a local supermarket to get some potatoes and green cabbage but neither of these were available and except for items like candy and cosmetics, the shelves were largely empty. So I had to have my corned beef with bok choi instead of green cabbage.
Welcome to the Soviet Union.
“So your point is we also look like a socialism country when there is a virus or hurricane, or snow storm... etc “
A useful idiot would make that comparison.
We have people driving several hours out from the city to buy up items out my way so they can then sell them in the city at a markup.
Then you have the panicked people seeing the emptying shelves freaking out and buying items just because someone else is reaching for it.
No, socialist countries have bodies lying around rotting or being devoured by wildlife when those things happen.
I would say that was a nice try, but since I have spent so much time living outside of North America I’m going to rate that rebuttal as feeble.
There is a big difference between something that happens once in a couple generations and something that is the normal condition.
We had a snowstorm out this way in 2010 that dropped 28” of snow on us.
Even at the height of the panic over that coming storm, the shelves weren’t as empty as I saw them yesterday at every local store.
And I’m two or three hours away from major cities.
We have people coming out here from the city to buy up items that they will then sell in the city for a markup.
Can’t wait to hear the millenials whine like idiots when the inevitable price increases from this come to pass.
LIBERALISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both cows, slaughters them for their own food,
and taxes you to death for worthless social programs, for having
the animals originally.
PROGRESSIVISM
You have 2 cows.
Progs advocate for advancements in science, technology,
economic development and social organization, but they’re so full
of bullshit, nothing ever changes.
You still have 2 cows.
SOCIALISM
You have 2 cows.
The State forces you to give one to your neighbor, shoots the neighbor
and forces you to milk them both, giving all milk back to the state.
The State gives you a cup of sour milk.
LEFTISM
You have 2 cows.
The State terrrorizes the animals until they can’t produce milk,
beats you and your wife to death, and puts your daughters & sons
into the Pedophile Nation, for the Epsteins, Weiners, Clintons etc.
MARXISM
You have 2 cows.
The government takes both and tosses you into a hog pen, where you’re
devoured and never found.
COMMUNISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and gives you nothing.
They shoot your family and put you in a gulag.

You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, promises more free cows, lets you vote and gives you sour milk.
FASCISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and sells you some milk.
NAZISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both and shoots your wife and kids.
ANARCHISM
You have 2 cows.
The State shoots the cows, you and your family.
CRONY CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
The State takes both, milks, slaughters them, and makes a tidy profit from the sale
of choice meat cuts and fresh milk.
You get some lousy hamburger and a jar of sour milk.
BUREAUCRATISM
You have 2 cows.
The State takes both, shoots one, hires a sub-contractor to milk the other, and then throws the milk away.
CONTEMPORARY WALL STREETISM
You have two cows.
You sell one, bundle the other with a goat, a mule,
and two dry cows.
You pile into the derivatives market, buy a Gulfstream
and when it all comes down around your ears...
You go to the government for a bailout.
TRADITIONAL CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies, and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.
One doesn’t Honeymoon in Moscow during the 80’s unless one is a freaking hard-core Communist F#ck.
“Look at the Freedoms we’ve already surrendered. Much of the Second Amendment”
Are you serious? More states offer concealed carry than 20 years ago. Open-carry is becoming acceptable. 2nd Amendment sanctuaries are popping up all over the country.
Yes, give us a few weeks and the supplies will catch up.
Went to a dispensary. Fully packed. They are expecting dispensaries, liquor stores and gun shops to be closed by decree.
At 3x to 4x the normal cost, no doubt...
* * *
You actually have a pot store that you can just drive by and everybody knows it's there? smh
Can you buy a machine gun? Without paying fees and paperwork?
