The Greek military is about 40-50% of the size of Turkey’s. It is tough to declare war against a much larger opponent.

Article 5. Who said it is not working if the aggressor is a NATO country too?
With thousands dead across the border in Italy to the virus the last thing they need is a horde of a million smelly sand diggers.

Worse odds have been overcome, especially by a determined defender. Turkey has to defend a lot of frontier areas facing other potential hostile neighbors. Turkey is also engaged in combat operations inside Syria.

I guess they should remember the example set by the 300 Spartans. It sort of worked before.

While those may not be the best odds, and I have no idea over how their capabilities compare, Turkey is pretty heavily involved militarily in their Syria invasion. They don't have that much to spare to fight a two-front war. If Greece is gonna fight them, now is the time to get it done.

NATO won't really apply to internal conflicts (don't think there's much history to rely on though), and I'm sure most of the EU would support Greece (mostly just verbally, not with personnel or equipment), cause none of them want more of the terrorists either.
