The problem is that the virus moves exponentially, while .gov, any .gov, thinks in linear fashion.

That is why (as Fauci has said) you have to over-react beyond what appears to make sense at that moment—and that means you have to take the political heat.

They are talking about things they should have been doing several weeks ago.

The virus is going to work its way through the country (and most in the world) in the next couple of months.

Example: The National Guard of all fifty states should have been mobilized—already.

Example: Tent cities for health care should have been built in all fifty states—already.

Example: The messaging should have been planned to match the science—they are not even in the ballpark on that one.

I could go on...

Time is not their friend.

Just to be clear—every western European country has the same problem.

They are all a day late and a dollar short...


Just one example—look at what little El Salvador did.

They had no positive cases—none. But they looked at the world around them and said f^%$ this—and closed their airports and banned foreign travel into their country.

_That_ is how you beat a virus.
