Texas 111 (0.01%)
California 178 (0.02%)
Arizona 296 (0.03%)
Florida 195 (0.02%)
Just for perspective, Here are the numbers for some of the states where the real problems are:
New Jersey 1,757 (0.18%)
New York 1,665 (0.17%)
Connecticut 1,220 (0.12%)
Massachusetts 1,206 (0.12%)
Note: Sweden did NOT shutdown its economy, treated Covod-19 as an epidemic like influenza.
The following DID shutdown their economies, and treated Covod-19 as a frightening pandemic.
USA Total 415 (0.04%) Pop 331,065,797
Just for perspective, Here are the numbers for some of the states where the real problems are:
New Jersey 1,757 (0.18%) Pop 8,883,893
New York 1,665 (0.17%) Pop 19,461,261
Connecticut 1,220 (0.12%) Pop 3,563,934
Massachusetts 1,206 (0.12%) Pop 6,891,556
The shutdown caused massive damage to the USA economy, and in the most mismanaged states yielded results 3 to 4 times WORSE than Sweden.
Here is the country that managed this Covid-19 epidemic rationally, maintained their economy, and is now back in business.
I think Ill send that, daily, to CommieCuomo and POTUS.
Definitely bears repeating.
Our numbers both for infected and dead are likely not going to be resolved for another few months. Quality data collection and analysis just isn’t that fast, as opposed to the more ad hoc processes we’ve been using to get data fast - so we have *something* to work with.
That said, only a few places (some of them quite populous, like NYC), should arguably have shut down - though arguably also, since there was so much defiance in those locations, the shutdowns benefits were minimized, and were overshadowed by some pretty gross incompetence. The rest of the country should have done no more than take it seriously by cleaning more frequently and thoroughly, and limiting contacts (and like Sweden, more stringently for the elderly).
