Unfortunately the “Black farmers” to whom the confiscated land was given, were not actually farmers, but political party members and former guerrilla fighters who knew NOTHING about farming. If I remember correctly, even the Blacks who were working for the White farmers and/or as share-croppers, were stripped of their land or driven off the formerly White own farms where they worked.
Not only that but the govt would steal farms again from the people who they gave them to if a better connected person thought it was too nice for them.
The black farmers who were successful also had their farms confiscated, the land given to those more politically reliable but absolutely incompetent. To me that resembles the ghetto mentality here in the US. If a black is successful, well then he aint really black. Jus keepin it real.
I saw a lot of that while in college in Newark NJ.
