I was going to say the same. China is (or was, I guess) well over 50% of the world’s steel production. You need steel for brake pads (unless we go back to re-lining...but I doubt anyone even knows how to do it now). Probably the same for just about everything else.

It will be very difficult to get China’s sticky fingers out of just about everything we buy...maybe not even possible.

I think economically divorcing China may be one of the real positives of this whole debacle.

Their horrible abuse of their people and their cheating lying business practices couldn’t do it. That should have been enough for us.

But our economic collapse due to their virus outbreak and response might be the thing that straightens us out.
