How is it inappropriate?
Because we weren’t hand wringing over those who waited and ended up in the situations they find themselves in?
This has been in the news since at least Jan. ANYONE who is watching and taking things seriously figured it out.
Lots of us did, got ready for it, and are now not in line making things worse.
The supply chain can handle people prepping a little at a time, over the course of weeks or months. It cannot handle everyone deciding all at once that they need enough for 2-4 weeks and stocking up in one shopping trip.

Tell me about it, if anything the Flubros should be KISS OUR FEET for not having to make their lines any longer. Are they? Nope, they just come here and troll.
Some of the seeming schadenfreude is a concern.

You don't have to hand-wring. But some of the comments (not from you) come across as "serves you right for not prepping".

I've been there. In mid January I was telling folks there's a problem. Getting Purell additional hand sanitizer stations ordered and installed led to comments of "paranoid". Now there's none to be had and people are ticked that we have them.
In early February, our group started to build out additional remote access systems so we have redundant systems to access. I already work staggered hours and encouraged others to do so. And then this week people acted surprised. For many companies there has been a real failure of leadership in response to COVID-19. Normalcy bias, etc.

Agreed and that is a great point. What little I am buying now is via delivery or pickup at the curb (right in the trunk).
