This brings the total cases of COVID-19 in Iowa to 17. Fifteen of the cases are linked to Iowans who were on a cruise in Egypt. Fourteen of those individuals are Johnson County residents. Another person linked to the Egyptian cruise who tested positive lives in Carroll County.
A Pottawattamie County resident has also tested positive for COVID-19.
Reynolds said all 17 cases are travel related.

We have several cases in Virginia that are also linked to a cruse on the Nile.
My understanding is that they can all be sourced to A Taiwanese tourist who had had been on the ship. She did not start displaying symptoms until she returned to Taiwan.
What is unclear is if she was on the ship at the same time as the American tourists who have become infected. It sounds like she may have taken a cruise at an earlier point in time.
