It’s not clocking in and clocking out.
You literally can’t write a written order in any American hospital any more, and if you did, the computers that carry out the orders, dispense meds, regulate pumps and ventilators, etc couldn’t carry it out.
Well then the code monkeys are going to have to go to work dang fast. Or give the swapped out doctors authorization (a resting doctor’s name and password?) and assign ‘em a PA or nurse who knows how the system works. (Believe me, I am quite aware of the difficulties of using a different software package than one is used to.)
It’s ridiculous that there are no overrides or protocols for an emergency situation.
