Great advice - Cuomo came out really strong those first couple of days, but where is he now? Keeping schools open is an abomination - there are ways to help needy kids w/out putting all at risk.
Ah. This lady is in Georgia.
Why do you think that? All at the same time?
Because the truck stops are going to be major vectors. Once one truck stop becomes hot, it will spawn hundreds of cases, those cases will then create many other truck stop hot spots.
Truckers use the bathroom and shower in truck stops. Each shower room has its own toilet. Maybe 150 truckers will shower between the 5 or so showers during the day at a busy truck stop. Maybe over 1000 will use the restroom there in a 24 hour period.
By “mild”, that means she was sick enough to go to the hospital where she tested negative for influenza, and stayed home sick for 10 days.
The FluBros are starting to understand the danger we face. This little tidbit of info is the last lightbulb that will illuminate over their coughing heads.
Agnes, Im very skeptical about these stories. I tend to think either someone is looking for investment and funding or someone is looking to placate us.
I do think that the worlds researchers will throw more at this to find treatment and vaccine than at anytime in history, so thats promising.
He is right about the kids being on the streets. It will be too much for the police and order could break down. He knows his city, I’ll give him that.

Well I’m using a dark cursor theme and I run Linux so ymmv but you should still be able to click on that left side to get to a single tweet where the url has /status/12345678909876
Alternatively, if it’s an image, just click on the middle of the image to get the large popup version. That will also give you a unique url to that single item. However, news articles posted to twitter often pull in a related pic and clicking on it will take you to the news article, blog post etc.
Here’s a link to a pic(covid related too) https://twitter.com/RealSaavedra/status/1239041045385474048/photo/1
Now if you want to post a pic directly here on FR from twitter, things get tricky. In firefox, I right click > view image. That shows just the pic but with an odd url that won’t show up as a pic here but it can be converted to a url that will put a pic here by removing the logic code.

Remove ?format and remove everything after jpg and put a dot before jpg
That gives you the actual file url like below
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ETH1A5kUEAEHvxh.jpg
If I had added the <img src= html, it would show as an image here
Stranger things have happened :)
He does kind of have a point. City schools are more day care than anything. Close the schools and we’ll see a whole lot of news about “a group of teens” did this or did that
There are marathons all over the country not cancelled. Add into that equation sweat being splashed around and more forceful inhaling and exhaling. Runners’ bodies take up more room than a walking body does with arms and legs stretched out farther so Popular Mechanics needs to rework their math.
They’d also have to do the grid distancing for spectators. Sorry, there wouldn’t be enough room, period.
Anyone know who a biomedical engineer should get in touch with if he wants to help build ventilators?
I was greeted in my email this morning with an announcement that MGM Springfield MA was closing.
(_No_ clue why _I_ was on their email list.... :-) )
Well at least they don’t use that hallway full of pay phones anymore. They do also tend to have video games and of course food service. Pilot and other travel centers also have a lot of non-truckers and are busy busy places
All the beaches are full of college kids who will party in hotel rooms at night and go club hopping. Going to be a lot of spread coming from Daytona. Today is the last day of Bike Week 2020

They are going to roll it out “within weeks”.
That is rofl stuff—no point in bothering in a few weeks...
