PENN STATE (PALM BEACH)

(I just posted a link saying Princess Cruises had cancelled all cruises, so I wonder if this ship left port or not?)

‘Everybody’s doing the elbows’: Penn State fans, Sue Paterno cruising despite coronavirus

Eileen Miner, a veteran travel agent and owner of Thompson Tours of Scranton, Pennsylvania, who is leading the Penn State group on the trip, says she thinks the virus news has been blown out of proportion. While she says we need to protect those with underlying lung issues, health-care workers and those in nursing homes, the hype has been too much.

Agree.

I make those (similar) points, daily.

He keeps saying the buck stops....w/Trump.

🙃

A lot of the frustration is the limbo stuff with work, with this mess.

“We knew what it was right off the bat. They had to figure it out.”

Did we? The CDC had about the same approach to testing and confirming as China - “don’t test, don’t tell”.

Testing doesn’t matter much anymore. Though more testing when we were in the containment phase would have helped.
Now, testing is to protect responders and healthcare workers,

I like those drive thru test locales. Seem to be springing up everywhere.

The masks they’re wearing won’t protect them.....it protects others from them if they have it.

>>> Actions that prevent rapid spread always seem to be over the top.

Yes, from an epidemiological point of view, it’s unfortunate, but the time for action is early, when action is likely to be mistaken for overreaction. And when the action works, and prevents the spread of the disease, people a month from now will say “See?! We overreacted!” Just like Y2K. Because all the preparation work was successful, those who literally don’t know what they’re talking about say Y2K was a hoax, too. It’s a no-win situation for those who really do know what they’re talking about.

Interesting information regarding the KS fatality case:

“The patient wasn’t tested until he came into the hospital. Hadn’t had any reason to be suspicious of it. ***It was thought to be a cardiac reason that brought him in to the hospital***. And it was through the course of his medical evaluation that it was viewed as a good idea to do testing because he had a fever,” Dr. Lee Norman, the secretary of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
