The version of the Mil fallling in beside Trump that took place in the Rose Garden speech better exemplifies the demeanor of the men that I referred to, but it's beens scrubbed. It was more stark. At the time it struck me forcefully because the mood at both speeches was jovial and celebritory and along come these unsmiling men to stand beside him for a period of time, and then leave. I know that the mil often don't smile when on duty but this stood out to me at the time. Even the Inauguraiton videos seem to have been edited after initial distribution to limit the impact - just my two.
At the Inauguration, a mil comes down the steps and returns, and then the group comes down to stand next behind him. In the Rose Garden speech, they were on a two step riser to one side of him - came down and stood beside him, then returned - all without explanation and certainly without comment from the MSM.
