I got a note from a friend who lives outside the US pointing to a story saying Trump’s statement about Google having 1700 engineers working on a screening website was not true, and that all they’re doing (a Google subsidiary called Verily is making a small trial website that will be used to triage patients in the SF Bay area only.
Of course it came with the comment “typical Trump stuff”.
I have no way to refute because search only produces several “techie” websites that are echoing the same story.
I’m hoping this is just fake news because so much of what was put out yesterday depends on being able to screen people before they are tested due to the limited testing capacity - why waste $ and time testing those who don’t have symptons? And the website is the logical way to cull out those who need testing at a drive-through facility.
Has anyone got more info about this? It could be another example of fake news manipulation where both things are true but they only present one part of the story to make President Trump look like an idiot.
That would mean there are a lot of other highly educated idiots and CEOs on the same stage who will look like idiots too.

It doesn't take 1,700 people to write software. In fact, ONE developer is the best number. The larger the "Team" the less efficient the process.
On the other hand, when this goes into production mode it will involve a lot of data centers and a lot more people.

I would say that the average citizen doesn’t have a way to know how many people are really working on it and:
a) the DEEP STATE Media will shriek it’s insufficient and distort/omit info
b) the President will retain as much staff as he needs for the task.
Since taking office, I’ve read DOJ and other articles saying he’s “saved” X million here, recovered X billions in trade from this/that/the other country, he’s halted hemorrhaging of aid by $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to foreign countries, he’s stopped the elites from using tax payer money for their daily wealthy lives and paying off heads of state - he has so radically transformed our relationship to money and people are so motivated to work on this I just don’t see an understaffed, paltry effort happening. :)
I think we’re seeing seeing the DS plan of “too little” “too late” screamed in the news and we don’t know who is working on what at which location etc.
at the end of the press brieding, Pence? was asked about that, or was it DJT? They answered vaguely - ‘goog promised something by Monday’
An enterprising anon was offering "AI-based diagnosis". He said to take off your shirt, raise your arms over your head, and cough, and then send him the video with audio. His algorithm would then determine whether or not you had coronavirus.
Judging by the photo he attached, his algorithm works best on young women.
