In 6-8 weeks this thing will be done...at least here in the US. At that point we can tally up the numbers:
Number infected
Number hospitalized
Number of deaths
Ages of fatalities
Pre-existing conditions in those infected
Pre-existing conditions in those deceased
Then we can compare those figures to those infected with “ordinary” flu this winter (’19/’20).
Of course there will be more cases as they test more, then they will decline rapidly as this runs the course. But the damage the media driven panic has caused will remain.
Logically and mathematically it’s going to have to continue to grow for at least some time.
There is so much misinformation being spread by those with an ax to grind, that we have to assume that anything could happen from the worst case scenario to the best case scenario.
Calm practical steps are the way to protect ourselves regardless of where this is going. Panic and hysteria are always counterproductive. Yet in my 68 years, I have yet to see any serious event dealt with anything but a crisis mode.
What did my parents say when I was a kid? Don’t run around like a chicken with their head cut off. Still good advice.
Because we weren't testing 2 weeks ago. Of course there are more cases now because we're finally testing. It's been out there for weeks.
In 6-8 weeks this thing will be done...at least here in the US.

How many people die of "flu" in this country during January/February/March? Thousands and thousands.
Numbers are meaningless, they only put out numbers to try to keep people calm. There’s no way to really know how many have it.
Temp in central Texas will be Mid 80’s this week. That should wipe it out here. Except in those cold enclosed houses and businesses.
My observation is the farther south you get, generally the lower the thermostat setting for AC.
The CV has yet to spread into the general population so there is no way there could be deaths of the order of what we see with the regular flu.
But the regular flu isn’t growing at 35% PER DAY. You need to think ahead about a month. At 35% growth per day.
Assume you had $1000 invested at 35% per day interest. How rich would you be in a month? Figure that out and you will see what I’m talking about.
Things always get worse before they get better! How MUCH worse is the issue. My take- not nearly as bad as the left is hoping for.
My ex wife only knew one thermostat setting, all the way to the left (old school) Or as low as it can be set.

Fauci’s comments are not helpful and feed into the hysteria. We are at 1000 cases and he has absolutely no idea or reason to say that we are going to have millions of cases. Even if China is downplaying this, they are only at 80,000 cases in a country of 1.4B. It’s completely irresponsible of Fauci to say this is an open forum.
