That’s my question too (but I messed up and posted it on the old thread.) Reworded slightly:

... good discussion of sanitizers, handwashing, and masks:

Has anyone asked the taskforce when the US will have enough N95 masks for not only professional healthcare workers, but people like me with high risk family members?

Plus you gotta oversupply the hoarders, somehow...

I don’t know how I’d ever get over it if I was unknowingly infected and then infected my elderly Mom while “caring for her” because I can’t get the **** masks.

There was a post yesterday about mask manufacturing and Congress. As the story goes, there was a need to limit liability for masks (presumably for improper use and care). Dems in Congress refused to limit liability. Thus, no incentive to ramp up mask production. I recall Tom Cotton (R-AR) was the source of the info. Cannot verify whether this is an accurate report.

.
I’m a caregiver for a 95 yo mom(with high BP) so i’m irritated that theres no recent info on the N95 production. I suspect that our gov is hording them all to build up a strategic reserve. HHS said they need 300 mil but 3M capability is 25-35 mil/month. Honeywell may also be manufacturer but i haven’t seen info of their capacity. Here’s what I’ve seen but its back around Mar 1 ...
