Our coop electric company has just installed a fiber network in our neighborhood. Right now they are twice the cost per month (60 vs 30) as my ATT DSL line. The other fiber line is Spectrum which is 45/mo. I’m wondering if 5G wireless will be a competitor also?
5G is 10x higher capacity than 4G, usable in a city at shorter range. Tree leaves may block the signal.
Starlink internet for a residence may be available sh 2020. Some pundits mentioned $60 month for service with ping time of 18-32 ms and 1Gbit down.
