I wouldn't call it panic buying but shopping patterns are definitely different here in the twin cities, mn.

Lots of people stocking up and non perishables are definitely selling more. No rubbing alcohol to be found and toilet paper being picked apart.

Rubbing alcohol will do if the hand sanitizer runs out. Still no hand sanitizer in Walmart, and the rice and dry beans were low (not gone, but not plentiful, either). Still plenty of canned stuff. TP, bleach, vinegar, water, various forms of Lysol all still available. I only stopped at Walmart because my wife demanded tribute in the form of chocolate ice cream, but I was curious. It was Sunday evening, so that may have some influence on the stocking situation. Not a lot of customers, but not one was doing “prep” shopping unless you count the guy with two cases of diet Dr. Pepper.

We already have what we expect we would need for a several month quarantine, if one comes our way, or if we decide to pull the trigger and self isolate. Only doing superficial shopping at this point. Probably won’t even do that much longer as cases are starting to pop up closer to home, now. We’ll see how this goes for the next couple of weeks.
