Yet the CDC still has strident requirements for who can be tested.
Many in CA who were on the first infected cruise still cannot get a test if they have mild symptoms or no symptoms. Same with those in WA with no known contact with a verified infected person.
Only those who show up at the hospital in bad shape get tested.
Those CDC requirements were due to a lack of tests available.
The Vice President has indicated that the requirements will be reduced as more tests become available.

They dont. They will allow testing for anybody on doctor’s orders.
States are taking over in many cases, but i don’t think they will limit testing either.
according to the Pence presser, a person has to go thru their doctor right now to get the test ordered. Out here in calif, Quest Diagnostics is a test lab - and they’re just about everywhere so doctor’s lab orders can be filled pretty conveniently. So tests will be accessible.
But what they’re trying to prevent is a Thanksgiving Black Friday-type crush where everybody and their cousin want to get tested ‘just because’. (this is what happened in Wuhan where there are no private doctors for the working class so everyone shows up to the hospital). The problem of false negatives, a trait of this virus, means multiple tests. So we have to have brakes on the system. At least, that’s how I see it.
