From a post in the forum asking why it was hard to view FR earlier today:

I checked websitedown.info and it said it was down. Guess that is what it says when things are running slow and timing out.

When the FR site isn’t accessible, I go to Free Republic on Facebook to check the status.

Being bogged down by what or whom? Was there a national crisis that would make every FReeper on the planet try to log on at the same time?
