I really wonder what kind of game is being played. I can see how all the Dems get behind a guy they know can’t win if he can save the downticket races i.e. win the Senate and hold the House for them, because then they can impeach AND remove Trump. But how can Biden do that, when he’s so dopey nobody is going to want to even be on the same stage with him? He’d cost them more seats than he’d help win.
Same is true for Bernie but for different reasons. He’s not senile but he’s toxic to any congressional candidate outside the coastal cities.
So let’s assume the Dems are going to pull a rabbit out of the hat, i.e. Hillary. That would piss the Bernie Bros off even more and if she couldn’t manage to get off her ass to campaign in states like Wisconsin for her ownself, so how is she going to be able to do it for all the congressional races? She’s as toxic as Bernie and in only slightly better shape than Biden. At least he isn’t falling apart physically, and we know there’s something wrong with her. She’s been able to maintain the illusion while living her life of leisure but put her back on a grueling campaign trail and how’s she going to hold up? She’s got all her old baggage plus she’s starting to really look like hell.
Maybe it’s just a scam - maybe Bernie will ask for another house and a couple of sports cars and go away quietly. But if he gives up without a fight the Bernie Bros will burn some stuff to the ground and they will never just go and vote for Biden or any other non-socialist.
