What is “plus ultra”? Well, this is what I found: Plus Ultra (+U) is a secret society, comprised of the greatest minds throughout history. They created something called “Tomorrowland” . . . On September 9, 1889, a secret meeting was held

This may be a bit misleadling . In 1555 Nostradamus published his prophetic quatrains: in Centurie VI, quatrain #70, the seer mentions Plus ultra

Chief of the world the great CHYREN will be,
PLUS ULTRA after loved, feared, dreaded:
His fame and praise will surpass the heavens
And with the sole title of Victor quite content

The posting goes on to say, CHYREN is an anagram for Henry, the Grand Monarch; PLUS ULTRA was Charles V’s device. 'Henry' and 'Charles V' refers to France.

Which is to say that the phrase 'Plus Ultra' far predated 1889. Whether the two dates have some secret connection is up for study and interpretation. Certainly the phrase has a notable occult history.
